 Scientific Name: Moluccan cockatoos are scientifically known as Cacatua moluccensis.


Physical Characteristics: Moluccan cockatoos are large, white birds with a salmon-colored crest of feathers on the top of their head. They can grow up to 20 inches in length and weigh around 2 pounds. They have gray-black bills and gray legs.


Habitat: Moluccan cockatoos are native to the Seram archipelago in Indonesia, where they inhabit forests and feed on seeds, nuts, fruit, and coconuts.


Behavior: Moluccan cockatoos are known for their loudness and intelligence. They have the ability to mimic sounds and speech. They are popular as pets due to their affectionate nature and strong bond with their owners. However, they can also become clingy and demand attention. These birds can be trained to perform tricks and learn new words.


Lifespan: Moluccan cockatoos have a long lifespan of around 50-60 years when kept in captivity.
