Scientific Name: The scientific name of the blue-crowned conure is Thectocercus acuticaudatus. There are five subspecies with different color combinations:
- Thectocercus acuticaudatus acuticaudatus
- Thectocercus acuticaudatus haemorrhous
- Thectocercus acuticaudatus koenigi
- Thectocercus acuticaudatus neoxenus
- Thectocercus acuticaudatus neumanni

Physical Characteristics:
- Blue-crowned conures are medium-sized parrots that grow to be 14 to 16 inches long.
- They have a distinctive bright blue head, green plumage, and an orange beak.
- Their spiked tail adds to their unique appearance.
- Blue-crowned conures weigh a maximum of 165 grams

Habitat:
